When will I receive a movement alert?
Movement alerts are notifications sent from your SPOT device to your contact list indicating your device or asset is in motion. Tracking mode must be enabled on your device.
In order to receive a movement alert, the feature must be enabled from your SPOT account device settings page. After enabling Movement Alerts, you are given the option to select your Movement Alert rate. The available Movement Alert rates are: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 12 hours. The rate determines the amount of time the device must be stationary before a Movement Alert is sent. After movement has been detected, the alert message sent, your SPOT device will resume tracking mode.
