What is the character limit for email and text?

The character limit for SMS Texting and Email messages is 140 characters. This includes empty spaces and in the case of emails, any previous messages quoted in a reply.

Common Issues
My message is short but still does not go through.

If you have a short message but it still does not go through, it could be that you are returning to a new line of text and the empty spaces are counted towards your character limit.
You may encounter failed inbound emails due to the sender allowing the quote of your original message to be included. Please ensure that any email sent to the SPOT X is free of all text other than the intended message.
