SPOT Gen3 is no longer in production, however, it is still supported on the Globalstar Satellite Network.

What does the mail/envelope LED represent?

The mail, or send, icon on the SPOT Gen3 indicates that your device is attempting to transmit a message.  If you are sending a Check In or Custom message, please allow the SPOT to complete the message cycle before turning off or stowing your device.  When the mail/enveloped LED is no longer displaying activity, you may turn or stow your device.

A Check In and Custom message cycle may take up to 20 minutes while in optimal operating conditions (clear view of the sky, distant from tall structures by at least 10 meters, SPOT logo facing the sky).
