General
SPOT Gen3 is no longer in production, however, it is still supported on the Globalstar Satellite Network.
How does tracking work?
Once you set your device to tracking mode, the SPOT Gen3 will send an initial tracking message. Your GPS location will be acquired and the message will be sent. The next tracking message will be sent according to how the tracking interval is configured.
The default tracking interval is 10 minutes. The basic service plan allows 5, 10, 30, and 60 minute tracking intervals.
The extreme tracking service permits 2.5 minute tracking interval for precise tracking locations and is an added cost service. More information on Extreme Tracking can be found here.
