For data transfers, the RS-232 port on the DCS-1200 connects directly to your computer or other data device. The security module can operate using either A/C power or an internal rechargable battery. For indoor business or home usage, the Globalstar GSP-2900 fixed satellite terminal works with the DCS-1200 to provide high-grade, secure voice and data encryption protection for almost any telephone at the office or home. A DCS-1200 unit is required at both ends of a phone or data connection to allow signals to be encrypted by the sender and decrypted by the recipient. The DCS-1200 contains the communications technology of CopyTele, Inc. and utilizes either the Citadel CCXTM encryption algorithm developed by Harris Corporation or the Triple DES cryptographic algorithm.
