GLOBALSTAR BUILDS TRACKING STATION IN SOUTHERN AFRICA AS IT PREPARES FOR LAUNCH OF NEW SATELLITES

Company achieves another satellite launch milestone as it begins construction of final telemetry and control site

MILPITAS, CA, February 10 2010 - Globalstar, Inc. (NASDAQ:GSAT), a leading provider of mobile satellite voice and data services to businesses, government, and consumers, announced today that it has commenced construction of a satellite tracking station in Botswana, located in Southern Africa. The station will be used to complete the Globalstar satellite telemetry control unit (TCU) network that is to be used to monitor and control the Company’s second –generation satellite constellation scheduled for launch beginning this summer.

“Constructing the final piece of our satellite telemetry control network is another milestone event as we prepare for the launch of our new satellites,” said Tony Navarra, President, Global Operations, Globalstar, Inc. “We are very pleased as our launch plans are proceeding as expected. Last month we displayed the first Globalstar second-generation satellites currently undergoing final integration and testing at the Thales Alenia Space production facility in Italy. Now we are about to complete the construction of the satellite ground TCU network used to control those new satellites once they are launched.”

Earlier this year the Company announced the 90-day window for the launch of the first six Globalstar second-generation satellites is scheduled to open on July 5th of this year. Once the satellites are deployed, the TCU network will provide Globalstar with the ability to communicate with and monitor the condition of its new constellation from the Company’s two satellite operations and control center locations in California. The new satellites are expected to provide Globalstar customers with enhanced next-generation Internet-protocol multi-media or IMS and legacy mobile satellite services beyond 2025. Globalstar expects to complete construction of the Botswana tracking station and begin taking delivery of its new satellites later this spring.
